Believing that she was destined to serve others and help people live emotional and spiritual whole lives, Unitha L. Muhammad has spent her life living out this purpose. Since her childhood she has volunteered and worked for a variety of community agencies and non-profits. She has spent over twenty years working as a peer counselor, lay minister, and facilitator of a variety of small groups.
Unitha holds Los Angeles County certifications as a Grief Counselor, HIV/AIDS Educator and Counselor, and Sexually Transmitted Disease Educator. She also has completed an extensive counseling training established by Dr. Ronn Elmore and completed the Living Waters leadership training for sexual and relational brokenness.
Unitha was trained and mentored by some of the best ecclesial and lay leaders: the late Dr. Bishop Benjamin F. Reid, First Lady Pearl Reid, the late Kuni Cross, Pastor Johnny Baylor, Pastor Juanda Peters, Dr. Juanita Smith, Mary Alice Haye, Dr. Bishop Kenneth Ulmer, and Bishop Noel Jones. Unitha learned church religious organizational leadership by working in various positions of local church congregations, Jewish organizations, and Synagogues. She assisted in start-up church plants and executive level mega-church and organizational leadership roles. Her ministry emphasis is in the areas of Church Leadership Development, Discipleship Leaders Training, Ministry Start-Up and maintenance, and church events coordination.
Unitha is the wife of Pastor Omar A. Muhammad, Th.M and the mother of four children.
